Unfortunately, Paige Mills couldn't join us for family dinner night due to Covid. However, she'll have plenty of leftovers to enjoy, as the Indian food and desserts were both amazing. Paige Mills! Ambience was awesome felt like you were in her home country!

Very, very flavorful food options in a beautifully-themed restaurant with very friendly (but a bit slow!) service. Definitely come at open on a weekday or get a reservation; it gets busy here and quickly. Oh, and don't forget to get a cute photo with the peacock wings mural right outside the restaurant. It's a cute way to pass the time until your reservation starts anyway. PROS: -Very friendly, very knowledgeable waitress. She was able to answer all of our questions, and she was so pleasant and happy to work with us when we had odd questions. She had some off-the-menu recommendations that pretty much "made" our experience too. Within the hour we were here, though, the restaurant got really busy, and we saw less of her and had to wait a bit for the check. -Drinks are very complex and poured heavily. Zero complaints about any of the cocktails we ordered; they're all sippers in the best of ways. -The Whipped Paneer and Naan bread appetizer is probably the best Naan I've had in my life. I don't actually think I'll ever get a Naan as pillowy, soft and near-pancake gentleness as this was. It was beyond amazing. The melding of flavors in the dip was out-of-this-world too. It all paired together amazingly. -Our meat was deliciously, fall-off-the-bone cooked. I can't tell you which one (as the menu online isn't the one we ordered from), but it was some of the best protein we've had in a long time. Everything about the presentation was gorgeous, too, as you'd expect from a restaurant owned by a Food Network star. -Lots of cool Maneet Chauhan fan service around the restaurant too. They have some of her tournament-winning belts on display as well as magazine pages hung on the walls. You can buy some merchandise including signed cookbooks here as well. -Good variety of seating. They have 4-6 booths and a TON of 2-person, armless chair tables. (metal chairs like at taco restaurants!) There are some 4-person armless chair tables that they can push together for larger parties as well. -Noise level gets louder with people talking, but it's just the bustle and voices of people. There isn't any painfully-loud music to scream over, thank goodness. CONS: -The online menu is different than the in-person menu. They need to do an update. -Happy Hour is only a single hour (at open) and only available at the bar. Make sure to do your reservation accordingly if that's what you're looking for! -I'm not much for spicy (yeah, I know, wrong restaurant to go to, but partner wanted to go), and even the waitress-laughed-and-said-it-had-no-heat definitely had some heat to it. Tolerable heat, but enough heat to ensure I had a glass of water nearby. Just FYI if you're in the same boat.

We had an unforgettable 40th anniversary dinner at Chauhan Ale & Masala House. The waitress was fantastic, surprising us with a little champagne to mark our special day. The food was magnificent--the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted. My vegan dish was perfectly spiced, and the appetizer was so delicious it felt like I was starting with dessert. I highly recommend Chauhan Ale & Masala House for an exceptional dining experience.

Prompt service. Food was good and plenty. We need needed to go boxes and had no room for desert. Vindaloo is spicy. Would recommend going. We had a reservation to be safe. It's busy

The service was good and fast, which adds to my higher rating. The food and quality were great but I don't know if it's worth the premium they charge. You can get Indian food in Nashville for less and the quality and service will be just as good. But the location in the Gulch makes it easier to access for the masses. I knocked down a star because I didn't receive what I ordered. I ordered the lamb Korma and I received chicken. I'm sure I could have brought this to the attention of the staff, but we had a group of 5 people and didn't want to fuss about it. The chicken was juicy and tender so no harm done. I was charged for the lamb, so maybe speak up if something like that bothers you.

Some of the best food we had in Nashville. I could be bias as I'm a fan of Manet Chauhan, but the food was incredible. There was 4 of us, but we ordered for 10 as we wanted to try everything. Tamarind Lambchops were out of this world good. Tandory chicken was tender and flavorful. Saag Mac and cheese was genious. Naan and Raisa were great. All curries were great, but our absolute favorite was the "off menu curry" with lemongrass and Thai flavours. It was out of this world good. Least favourite was the Vindaloo as it had too much clove flavour. This place is a must try for anyone who likes Indian, Thai or Persian food flavours. And if you have never tried, you are missing out.

this restaurant came highly suggested by 3 people while in town. i was a bit skeptical because its indian food in the south, plus i am privileged enough to live in jersey city, nj and near edison, nj which are both a mecca of both Indian culture and cuisine. That being said, I think this establishment was good, but I didn't think anything I had was unique or impressive based on the 3 people who suggested it. I think for the south and this area, the gateway dish and Naan I had were very good and I can see why people love it because it's not typical for this city. The decor was beautiful, good service , full bar and clean place. The garlic parmesean Naan was fluffy with crispy edges. I loved the touch of parmesean, it was there for sure. Chicken Tikka with rice was a generous portion. The chicken itself was JUICY. They were incredibly weak on the spice I think i asked for medium strength so I'd keep that in mind. However, I think the flavor overall was good.

Awesome atmosphere, amazing service, and PHENOMENAL food. Chauhan's definitely lived up to the hype and having the 2 TOC belts on display was super cool. We didn't do anything fancy but did indulge ourselves with the braised pork shank with the vindaloo curry and the tamarind lamb chops with Korma curry. On the side the rice was perfectly cooked and we had garlic Parmesan naan to go with it. The flavors were out of this world. To drink we had the Ol' Chauhan and Taj Mule. I would 1000% order everything again. I can't wait to go back and try something new!
